Download the latest version of Mesquite from the Mesquite Github repository. For Mac OS X, use the files ending in.dmg. There are two alternatives, one for Java 1.6 (recommended for OS X 10.9, Mavericks, and lower), the other for Java 1.7 and above (recommended for OS X 10.10, Yosemite, and higher).

Java Mac Yosemite Download
- For Java versions 6 and below, Apple supplies their own version of Java. For Mac OS X 10.6 and below, use the Software Update feature (available on the Apple menu) to check that you have the most up-to-date version of Java 6 for your Mac.
- The solution was to install JDK 8u25 for mac. The JRE is not enough to run Netbeans, so it essentially was using the old JRE which did not support retina well. Here is the link: JDK 8u25 Download. The way to test if you have the right version is by running this in the command line: java -version You should see this back.
Hi. I can't seem to get the LibreOffice Base to work on my Mac running Yosemite 10.10. (iMac early 2009). Everything else seems to be working fine, except for Base. I keep getting the error message:
*'The connection to the data source 'New Database' could not be established. No Java Installation could be found. Please check your installation.'*
I downloaded Java for OS X 2015-001 from the Apple Support page (link is https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?l... ), and that was seemingly installed without any problems. I then restarted the computer and opened of Base, and keep getting the same error message.

Should I be installing the Java found in the Apple Support Page? Or, should I be installing the Java from this link: https://www.java.com/en/download/mac_... .

If it doesn't matter which link I download Java from, then how do I get Java to run so that I can use Base?
Thank you.

It doesn't work on IMacOS Sierra either! You can load every manual jre or jdk in existence, one after the other, (and I have) and it still has no effect on base.
